Our Company

Emcien was founded in 2001 with over 30 years of cumulative optimization experience. Since 2002, leading manufacturers have relied on Emcien's powerful DDPM solution to substantially improve their bottom line. Dr. Roy Marsten draws on over a decade of computational optimization, begun when he was a professor at Georgia Institute of Technology and an automotive OEM introduced the problem of complexity to Dr. Marsten in 1990. Dr. Marsten sought to answer a critical question posed by product management teams from Marketing and Engineering groups:

What optimized set of configurations captures
feature mix demand most efficiently?

To learn more about Emcien's Demand-Driven Product Management, we invite you to contact us. Our team will be glad to discuss your supply chain management practices to determine if Emcien may be of value to your organization.

  • Monitor Customer Buying Trends and quickly make adjustments as the market changes.
  • Optimize Product Offerings by creating standard feature bundles that leverage the highest selling feature groups and eliminate the poorly performing configurations. This ultimately maximizes revenue and margins by increasing product availability and improving sales velocity.
  • Forecast Configurations by feature mix for demand driven SKUs and then provide this forecast to SKU level forecasting applications and supply chain planning tools. This high fidelity forecast improves parts planning and product availability, lowers inventory costs and improves overall supply chain efficiency.

Did You Know?

The word Emcien comes from the formula used to compute the possible number of customer orderable combinations.

If m features on your product, and customers are looking for a subset of n features. mCn is the number of ways that customers can select a single configuration.
